Grenfell Tower - Taberancle Christian Centre becomes an emergency aid

Ongoing support is provided for victims of the Grenfell Tower disaster from one of our partnering organisation - Tabernacle Christian Centre. As one of the major crisis centre in receipt of donations for those displaced, our partners provide much needed support to over 90 surviving families. This help comes in the form of providing food shelter and basic necessities in addition to counselling and advice. Volunteers form the foundation by giving of their time and finances, even sleeping over on the premises, in order to accommodate the needs of the survivors.

The church opens to the community from Tuesday to Saturday, which gives access to those that require help and provision.  Volunteers also provide one to one support by means of being a personal shopper, in order that the resources donated, are evenly and fairly distributed. We see this unprecedented event needing our support on a long term basis as many of the survivors are still waiting to be housed and some of the accommodation offered has not been suitable for the needs of the families.
